This is probably because i do not have enough knowledge of how adapters work in VirtualBox, so if you could enlighten me, I would be very thankful I have tried setting them up in host only, but it seems it doesn't work like that (in GNS3 i can only see a single adapter from Virtual Box). I need them to communicate through GNS3 (map each one to a cloud in GNS3, and the route the packets as i need to). The problem is that they communicate between themselves (ping ) all alone. ![]() Second layout: I have GNS3 installed on the WinXP machine, and have created 2 Ubuntu hosts. so now i cannot connect GNS3 to the VM host/ It should have been only a routing problem before achieving communication between everything, but after Ubuntu upgraded itself (and i believe also VirtualBox), i could not select "host only networking" when starting the Ubuntu VM (i have followed this tutorial, even if it's for VMWare. Now the issues:įist layout: I had managed to achieve communication between the Ubuntu resident OS and the GNS3 routers, and managed to connect a GNS3 cloud to the VM. ![]() Due to the large number of Ubuntu hosts involved, i considered this to be the place to post. Now, if this post shoud be split and/or moved to another section, please inform me. I have a WinXP machine (desktop), installed GNS3 on it and created 2 Ubuntu 9.10 hosts (using VirtualBox). i have ubuntu 9.10 (and now Ubuntu 10) on my laptop as the running OS I have installed VirtualBox and made a Ubuntu 9.10 host, and have GNS3 installed. since i want to add portability to this project i have two different set-upsġ. What i'm trying to do is get 2 Ubuntu machines (virtual or not) to communicate using GNS3. ![]()
